I want to know more about Colorado. I have never been there but have heard good things about it. I adored the pictures that are posted and would love to come visit. My family and I like being outside but can't take the cold so info on'how cold it feels' would be terribly helpful. My youngsters have not played in snow and would adore to so i'm hoping that the humidity keeps the weather bearable. It'll help us tremendously in planning our trip.
First we spent months researching the area in Colorado that will be best for us, checking population demographics, work stats and geography. After it was a matter of saving up enough money, finding the best means for moving all our effects and our cats and reptiles, then essentially making the move.
And, quite frankly, those of us old line Coloradans who dislike that'vibe' as much as these posters in this thread appear to say they do are not inclined to publish a list on a Net forum of the few uncrowded decent places left. The places to avoid--if you've learnt about it in a national mag, or seen an advertisement on TV about it, or your new york city co-worker tells you about it--well, forget about it, it's been'discovered.' That takes about every'resort' city off of the list. If it's's on an Interstate, you can just about forget that, too. Inside 150 miles of the Front Range--nope, it's not uncrowded. No worse tourist magnet than those. What's left? Not too much.
But Winter Park might take you a little longer depending on the weather and the seventy corridor which comes down thru Winter Park then Evergreen and then Golden. Because you are from Alaska then you know how to drive in extreme conditions, but the commute is pretty fast down to the city.
